I sort of get why NYC went socialist. Young people were enabled and allowed to take out $100k’s in student debt for jobs that have no job market. There’s no check for whether or not your future job is available or makes money when you decide - insane. Then as they can’t find a job, they struggle to afford a house because asset prices have gone vertical. Why vertical? In part because we’ve devalued the dollar to absurd levels ($37T in debt - interest payments will top defense eventually) and sent asset prices high. Also, high prices and high mortgage rates together mean you really can’t afford to buy anything. You’re a renter forever. Taking care of the entire world, all the time, is expensive, and people are seeing it with a lower quality of life here and not being able to afford anything. This is enabled by politicians who have zero desire to cut spending since kicking the Weimar Germany can down the road is infinitely easier. Huge props to @elonmusk for DOGE. Outside of young people, the city allowed mass immigration. We’re shocked how they are voting? If you’re a poor immigrant you’re voting for gov assistance So, it makes sense. Go socialist and live off the government. Right? It sounds great, but it’s terrible. Socialism fails every single time. The government is not a creative creator of new products and services, and as a single entity, it doesn’t compete in a market with other companies to provide the lowest cost, highest quality products. We have 10 types of bread since they all compete. Socialism enables a human line for one type of bread. Socialism just milks what a country has now and torches the future. How? Literally the government takes everything and runs it inefficiently, without market based pressures, and it fails. What we need is a return to logic. Massively cut spending on one hand and fully lean into AI growth to grow our way out of the debt problem into a new golden era. Realistically, I expect a 2-3x voter turnout in NYC in November vs the primary, viral social pushback against mamdani and Cuomo to back Adam’s as a winner. Empires are killed from within. Pay attention.
