I think this is a good way to signal strength in terms of both tech and community regardless of whether Starknet will eventually become an L1. I don't know if that would mean completely leaving the settlement on Ethereum.
We need to show the world that we can be independent from the Ethereum broader Community seeing that most of their core members and gangs still have a bias against Starknet, so our loyalty to Ethereum shouldn't be taken for granted anymore
I also think that discussions around the philosophical implications of settling on Ethereum are not a priority anymore as I believe we are in a filtering age where getting users and volume will be the only thing that matters but obviously we should do that in the most decentralized way possible while not caring about the Ethereum moralistic way of seeing things, which has been one of the reasons why ETH the token and the community has not performed as most people expected
