What is this test all about?
The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) has introduced new guidelines on consumer protection measures for digital payment token (DPT) service providers. The knowledge test (also referred to as a "risk awareness assessment") is designed to ensure that retail customers are aware of the key risks involved in using DPT services.
Who needs to take this test?
The risk awareness assessment is required for all individual retail customers registered with OKX Singapore. It will be triggered once you have completed identity verification on your account. This doesn't apply to corporate or institutional customers.
Why do I need to complete the knowledge test?
To comply with Singapore regulations, DPT service providers must assess each user’s awareness of the risks associated with DPT services to ensure that users understand such risks before they can continue trading. This risk awareness assessment is mandatory for retail customers to complete in order to avoid restrictions to DPT services starting from 19 June 2025.
What happens if I don't pass the knowledge test?
If you don’t pass, you can retake the test as many times as needed. However, under local regulations, passing the test is required in order to avoid restrictions to our DPT services. Starting from 19 June 2025, your account will be restricted to crypto-to-fiat transactions, sending crypto to another DPT account that's not maintained by OKX Singapore, and withdrawals if you haven't passed the test. Once you pass the test, full trading access will be restored, unless other underlying restrictions apply.
I received a prompt to take the knowledge test. Can I skip it for now?
Yes, you can choose to complete the test later at your convenience. However, please note that starting from 19 June 2025, passing the test will be necessary to avoid any restrictions to our DPT services.
What's the passing score for the test?
To pass, you must answer at least 4 out of 6 questions correctly. You'll be notified in-app if you've passed or failed.
How do I take the test?
You can access the test here. Most users complete it within 5 minutes.
OKX Singapore may determine to update the risk assessment according to its current policies and procedures and relevant regulations.
