La vera decentralizzazione in un progetto blockchain è importante. Impedisce alle autorità centrali di inserire nella blacklist gli indirizzi dei portafogli, di ripristinare la catena o di interrompere completamente le transazioni.
È possibile capire se un progetto è veramente decentralizzato se non è richiesta alcuna autorizzazione per convalidare le transazioni. A tutti dovrebbe essere permesso di gestire un nodo, senza dover detenere monete o essere votati.
La comunità dovrebbe avere la possibilità di scegliere se supportare o meno gli aggiornamenti. Se non gli piace la direzione del progetto, possono semplicemente rifiutare gli aggiornamenti futuri ed eseguire il proprio fork del progetto.
