⌞Telegram Gifts 🔜NFT Summer?⌝ This post should have been published half a month ago, but I postponed it due to some personal biases. I hope it's not too late now. NFTs on traditional blockchains are barely hanging on, with Passcards being the last remnants of support. Even then, they are merely front-end packaging for token rights behind the scenes. While we are still waiting for the so-called "NFT Summer," have we ever considered whether it has quietly transformed into another form and exists in a different scenario? What kind of friendship is worth spending 4200 Ton (17,640 USD) to buy a TG gift for a friend? ◢◤◢◤◢◤◢◤◢◤◢◤◢◤◢◤◢◤◢◤ Starting a month ago, a new trend has emerged among Ton blockchain creators and players—Telegram Gifts. Even Viktor | @s0meone_u_know, the global community lead for Ton, and Echo | @EchoOnTON from Getgems, the largest NFT marketplace on Ton, are actively promoting it. Telegram Gifts is a social feature launched by TG, allowing users to purchase and gift items using TG Star. All TG Gifts can be upgraded into NFTs and set as TG PFPs. Once upgraded, each Gifts NFT has three attributes: - Model: Unique design and animation for each NFT (most valued). - Backdrop: NFT background color (second most valued). - Symbol: Unique identifier for each NFT (least valued). These rare attributes make them easier to trade on secondary markets, providing room for speculation. When TG users purchase gifts using TG Star, they might receive a rare NFT—who wouldn't be tempted? Due to its wide social reach, TG Gifts quickly gained traction among Ton users. The most popular TG Gift is the Plush Pepe NFT, a frog that has gained fame from ETH to TON💎. Currently, the floor price for Plush Pepe NFT is 370 Ton, approximately 1,200 USD, with a very thin floor. The highest sold Plush Pepe fetched 4200 Ton, and several others have sold for prices exceeding 1000 Ton. Another socially-driven and popular item is Swiss Watches, with a current floor price of 11 Ton. Since the release of TG Gifts NFT in January 2025, over $25 million in transaction volume has been generated across 70,000+ unique wallets. For an independent and even closed ecosystem NFT, achieving such market scale in just over two months is highly commendable. Users can purchase TG Gifts NFTs from the GetGems marketplace (@getgemsdotio) or the Fragment marketplace (). These are the two most popular marketplaces on Ton. Personally, I prefer Fragment, a Ton aggregation site. On Fragment, users can purchase TG Usernames, TG phone numbers, TG Stars, TG membership subscriptions, and TG Gifts. Fragment also allows users to place ads on TG channels. Essentially, anything TG-related can be done there. The site requires KYC (China is supported), and its advantages include stability, speed, and high transaction volume. ◢◤◢◤◢◤◢◤◢◤◢◤◢◤◢◤◢◤◢◤ Today, Ton NFTs have introduced something new. In addition to turning TG Gifts into NFTs, TG Stickers—chat stickers—can also be converted into NFTs for trading. A dedicated marketplace, @stickers_tg, has already been launched for this purpose, developed in collaboration between Notcoin and the Dogs team, with Telegram's involvement. Currently, the hottest sticker NFTs are Dogs OG and Pudgy Penguins, both with floor prices exceeding 20 Ton. Sticker NFTs sold in Sticker Packs require users to purchase them using TG Star. Ton creators such as Viktor, Zenith, and Echo are particularly enthusiastic about Sticker NFTs, actively promoting them on social media. They represent what I believe to be the most promising initiatives in the ongoing NFT renaissance. Or perhaps, they are pioneering a new paradigm for NFTs, transforming the traditional notion of Non-Fungible Tokens as mere small-image collectibles into practical social toolkits: - PFP Collections - TG Gifts | TG Stickers - TG Usernames | TG Anonymous Phone Numbers | Ton DNS All of these can be turned into NFTs, leveraging TG's massive global user base to onboard more people into NFTs—or, in other words, achieving true mass adoption of NFTs.
